ΚΑΛΩΣ ΗΡΘΑΤΕ ΣΤΟ ΔΙΕΘΝΕΣ ΣΧΟΛΙΚΟ ΠΡΟΓΡΑΜΜΑ - WELCOME TO THE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL PROGRAM

The International Big Talks for Little People Mental Health Classroom for primary schools aims to help school students better understand their mental health and enhance their well-being. The theoretical background to program constructs is provided along with suggested activities for 6 lessons of 35-40 minutes each.

The 6 lessons incorporate topics on mental health for young children.

The program intended for use in primary schools for all students but with a particular emphasis on students who have experienced trauma or challenges within their own mental health and wellbeing including school bullying. Teachers will be able to use the digital platform to run the 6-lesson module in their classrooms. The focus would be on early intervention and prevention for children in each class. The digital module is designed to be updated in response to new events eg natural disasters. The 6 lesson downloadable outlines are accompanied by digital animations intended to promote classroom discussion.

IMPORTANT - HOW TO GET STARTED

An introduction to the program can be downloaded below. Please read this first.

Teacher/Educator Professional Development

After completing the professional development, please complete lessons in the correct order. Each lesson page will have multiple files available for download.

The program also provides “Optional Activities” and “Teacher/Educator Information Sheets” to compliment the content. These can be used at any time.

In addition teachers/educators have access to student surveys which provide data from students regarding their mental health and wellbeing. The website for these questionnaires is www.caper.com.au. The student data can be used to provide feedback to schools/organisations regarding student wellbeing to inform the school/organisation’s ongoing programs.

There is also a teacher/educator ”Implementation Survey” available on the website www.caper.com.au providing feedback regarding the effectiveness of the delivery of the program in the classroom.
